# Best Christmas Gifts for Sphynx Cats — Clothes, Beds and Accessories They'll Actually Use
Gift guides for cats are everywhere in December.
Most of them are written by people who have clearly never owned a Sphynx, because they're full of recommendations like "a cosy fluffy blanket" (yes, but also they need something underneath the blanket because they have no fur) and "a self-warming bed" (closer, but let me explain why that's not enough on its own) and occasionally "a fun holiday sweater!" with a link to a costume-grade garment that fits no actual cat body on earth.
I own seven cats. Three of them are Sphynx or Sphynx-mix. I have bought a lot of Christmas presents for a lot of cats, and I have learned — through genuine experience and a fair amount of wasted money — what Sphynx cats actually appreciate receiving versus what looks cute in a photo and gets ignored by Boxing Day.
This is the guide I wish existed when I first got Dolly.

Why Sphynx cats are actually the easiest cats to shop for
Here's the counterintuitive thing about buying gifts for a hairless cat: because they have real, practical needs, there's a clear framework for what's worth buying.
A fully-coated domestic cat? You're guessing. Maybe they'll like the toy, maybe they won't. Maybe they'll nap in the bed you got them, maybe they'll sleep in the box it came in.
A Sphynx? If it provides warmth, comfort, coverage, or enrichment, they will use it. Sphynxes are physically motivated — warmth is a genuine need, not a preference — so gifts that deliver warmth get used. It's almost foolproof.
The categories that never miss: clothing, beds, heated accessories, and enrichment items that keep them mentally engaged (Sphynxes are intelligent and get bored).

The gift list — what actually works
### Clothing — the gift they'll use every day
If the Sphynx in your life doesn't already have a full wardrobe, this is where to start.
A quality everyday sweater or knit jumper is the most-used item in any Sphynx wardrobe. It provides warmth across a range of temperatures, goes on easily once the cat is used to it, and doesn't restrict movement. The nudiecats cat sweater range is specifically designed for the Sphynx body — deep chest, broad shoulders, sized to actually reach the base of the tail rather than leaving half the back uncovered.
A padded jacket for cold days is the second essential. When temperatures drop seriously — or when the cat is spending time in an air-conditioned space — a knit layer isn't enough. A proper cat jacket with padding or lining provides the level of warmth a Sphynx actually needs in Australian winter months.
A pyjama onesie for overnight is the item most Sphynx owners don't know they need until they have one. Overnight is when body temperature drops and hairless cats are most vulnerable to cold. A full-body pyjama for cats provides sustained overnight warmth without the cat needing to stay burrowed under blankets all night.
If you're unsure what size to get, the nudiecats sizing guide walks through exactly how to measure a cat — chest girth, neck girth, and back length — with breed-specific notes for Sphynx proportions.
One practical note: if you're buying clothing as a gift and you're not sure of the measurements, check the gifting or exchange policy before you buy. Sizing is the most common reason clothing gifts don't work out, and a good exchange policy means it's not a problem.
### A heated or self-warming bed
Every Sphynx needs a warm place that's theirs. A self-warming cat bed works by reflecting the cat's own body heat back at them — no electricity required and no ongoing running cost. An electrically heated bed takes it further for cats who get seriously cold.
What to look for: enclosed or partially enclosed shapes trap heat better than flat mats. Cats who are cold prefer to burrow, and a bed with walls or a hood lets them do that while staying warm.
Position matters as much as the bed itself. Put it somewhere draught-free, away from doors, windows, and floors that get cold. My heated beds are on low furniture — off the floor — because cold air sinks.
### Puzzle feeders and enrichment
This one is less obvious but genuinely important for Sphynx cats specifically.
Sphynxes are one of the most intelligent and active cat breeds. They get bored. A bored Sphynx is a destructive, demanding, and occasionally chaotic Sphynx. Enrichment isn't just entertainment — it's mental health maintenance.
The nudiecats accessories range includes puzzle feeders, which are among the most effective enrichment tools for smart cats. A puzzle feeder makes mealtime into problem-solving time, extends the eating process (good for cats who eat too fast), and gives them something to focus on that isn't your laptop, your Christmas tree, or your other cats.
### A cosy cat bed they can actually burrow into
Separate to a heated bed, a plush burrow-style bed is a gift that most Sphynx cats will use obsessively. The Banana Burrow is exactly what it sounds like — a plush bed shaped like a banana peel that cats crawl inside and curl up in. It's warm, enclosed, and irresistible.
My cats have expensive beds and they also have the Banana Burrow, and I'll let you guess which one they're all fighting over by week two.

What NOT to buy
Since we're being honest here.
Generic pet store cat clothes. Most off-the-shelf cat clothing is not designed for Sphynx proportions. It won't fit across the chest, it'll be too short in the back, or it'll have a neck opening so small you need to wrangle the cat to get it on. Branded clothing designed specifically for hairless breed proportions is worth the additional cost.
Costumes. I know. They photograph beautifully. But a Halloween costume or a novelty holiday outfit is not comfortable for extended wear — it's not designed to be. It's fine for a five-minute photo and then it comes off. That's not the same as functional warmth.
Tiny accessories that are a choking hazard. Collars with small pendants, toy accessories, anything with small detachable parts. Sphynxes explore with their mouths and are incredibly dexterous with their paws. Skip anything that could become a problem if pulled apart.
Anything that requires the cat to be measured without actually measuring them. If you're guessing at size, you're setting yourself up for a return. Take ten minutes with a tape measure. It's worth it.

A note on timing — why July is the right time to read this
Christmas in Australia is December. But if you're reading this in the middle of the year and thinking "that's months away," consider this: the sphynx cat clothes you buy now will be getting used right through winter — which is happening right now. The seasonal content in this guide applies to the cold months your cat is already experiencing.
There's no reason to wait until December to buy a sweater. Your Sphynx is cold in July, not just at Christmas.
